Places To Go, People To See

This project is influenced by the gesture of coming and going. This work represents the ways that we mindlessly come and go from one place to the next, and by the time we reach our destinations we can't exactly remember how we got there. In this work titled, Places To Go, People To See I wanted to use shoes as a symbol for this gesture of coming and going because they act as vessels that transport us to where we want to be. I wanted to use the original audio attached to the video clips with only minor changes to capture a glimpse of what is going on in the background of the shot. I chose to utilize a lower angle to highlight the shoes and cut out any potential emotion from the subject (myself) being filmed. These elements leave the work up for interpretation; where is she going and why is she leaving?
